Outfit Inspo

This will be my personal style archive—a place to catalog my outfits, jewelry, accessories, and more. A spot to look back for inspiration or to maybe question my choices and wonder how I left the house looking like that. My style is always evolving, and I love experimenting by mixing different aesthetics and making the most of whatever I have in my closet.

Fancy Night Out

Okay, I was obsessed with this dress when I first got it. I snagged it on sale at Free People, and it was such a steal! It’s so pretty and summery—I wore it on a cruise with my parents through South America. That said, I was a little too excited about it and wore it the day we went hiking to see Aztec ruins, which… yeah, not the most practical choice for a hike. But, I looked fantastic, so honestly, I don’t really care.

The only downside? I had to wash the dress, and now I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get all the wrinkles out and make it look like it did when I first bought it. It’s like I’ve tried everything, but it’s just not the same. 🙁

Matching Outfits

Okay, so this matching moment with my friend was totally unintentional, but it turned out so good that we had to document it. The top is from Princess Polly—though I’m kind of over fast fashion these days, I’ll always have a soft spot for a good baby tee. As for the shorts, I think they’re men’s boxers from TJ Maxx. They look great in the photo, but honestly? They felt like I was wearing paper. And no joke, they ripped like it, too. My shoes are probably Air Maxes, which definitely went with my “I hate being girly” phase—ah, memories. But let’s be real, the outfit slaps in this photo. And can we take a moment to appreciate how tan I was? (Meanwhile, I’m now crying in the UK and currently looking translucent)

Boho Outfit

This was one of my favorite outfits from the summer. Both the skirt and top are from Princess Polly, which, by the way, will become a recurring theme here because I was obsessed with that site back in undergrad. I’ve since moved on, but I’m still figuring out how to style these pieces to fit my evolving style. That said, I’m still all about the maxi skirt and cropped top combo—it’s a classic.

The necklace is from eBay, and it was definitely controversial in my house about whether I should actually wear it or not. But I’m glad I went for it, because I rarely get to wear bold statement necklaces. I’ll take any opportunity I can get! And, of course, I’m rocking my brown Freebird boots, which are a wardrobe staple for me.

Red, White and Blue

Not going to lie, I felt like this outfit was more suited for a Fourth of July party than a random Tuesday in the middle of winter in Scotland, but honestly, the fit was too good to care. The dress is from Free People, and I’m obsessed with it—though it’s really short, and I’m only 5’2″. The jean jacket is actually my grandma’s (shh, don’t tell her—I’m pretty sure she won’t notice, especially since she has Alzheimer’s). And, of course, the boots are my trusty Freebirds. I have two pairs and seriously can’t get enough of them.

First date Fit

Honestly, I had no idea what to wear and had to call my mom for advice. I tend to dress pretty extra sometimes, and part of me thought, why not show him what to expect right away? But thankfully, I was talked out of that and decided to keep it more low-key. The jeans are from American Eagle, and I love them—they’re the perfect mid-rise, so they’re super comfortable. The top is an off-the-shoulder shirt from Princess Polly, which I’m obsessed with. However, someone seriously needs to invent a way to wear off-the-shoulder tops with coats, because it looks ridiculous when they ride up.

That being said, none of it mattered because halfway through my walk there, it started pouring rain. My blowout completely died, and I ended up looking like a drenched rat.

Ring and Bracelet stacks!

I’m all about stacking rings and bracelets, and I love mixing them up as long as they’re in the same color family. For me, more is definitely more—and I’m all for it! Most of my rings are from my grandma, but Depop and eBay are my go-to spots for finding unique pieces. I’m never 100% sure about the quality, though, so I try to play it safe by keeping them dry and avoiding water whenever I can. Better safe than sorry!

Westernish

I really loved this outfit, but unfortunately, my mom said it looked like I was dressed like a teacher. Which, considering that I am a teacher, made the comment sting a little more than it should have. The skirt is from Princess Polly, the top is from H&M, and the vest is a find from Depop. I put this outfit together as an attempt to feel cute and to make use of my summer clothes in the winter—kind of tricking myself into feeling like I was back home in the sun, instead of freezing my ass off in 0°C (which, by the way, I’ve had to get used to Celsius, and I absolutely hate it). Oh, and of course, I’m wearing my cowgirl boots because, honestly, there’s almost nothing that will make me take them off.

Night Out With Freinds

This look turned out to be a total accidental 2000s vibe. The jeans are from Depop, the boots are from eBay, and the top was thrifted in Houston—so, pretty unhelpful info overall. Also, random side note, but this whole vibe is giving MySpacee esk (which, full disclosure, is before my time), and I’m starting to get the appeal! And just a heads-up: don’t be surprised if most of my photos are taken in my semi-clean dorm room, I’m way too uncofortable to attemp to take a picture of myself anywhere else. Yes, I’m 22, but I’m also a grad student, so please, give me some grace 😉

Casual Maxi Skirt

I absolutely love wearing maxi skirts, but styling them in winter can be tricky—especially when I don’t want to feel overdressed. I still want to embrace that whimsical, girly vibe even when it’s freezing outside, so my solution is to layer up with a long-sleeve and brave the cold. I’ve found that adding jewelry always helps me feel more like myself. Even though this outfit is pretty simple—just a white long sleeve (H&M), a maxi skirt (Free People), and cowboy boots—adding a few accessories gives it a touch flare without going overboard. Plus, I wore this with glasses and no makeup, and I’m starting to embrace the idea that you don’t need makeup to wear a cute or elevated outfit!
